I received word from Matthew Hittinger, the editor at OCHO magazine, that my poem "The Wrong Man, The Wrong Night" has been nominated by the magazine for a Pushcart Prize. The Pushcart Prize celebrates the best literature among small presses, and is awarded annually. Nominations are taken from the beginning of October to the beginning of December. The Pushcart Press editors who sponsor the award then review all of the nominations and assemble an annual anthology of what they feel is the best of the submitted work. Next year will mark the 39th year of publication. Just being nominated is an incredible honor, and something I have always hoped for, but thought was unlikely to happen for a very long time still. Keep your eyes on this space for more updates as they come along.
